When we hear of teenagers committing suicide we’re told its because of bullying or being too afraid to come out as gay or bisexual. We’re told its because of drugs or alcohol, divorce, stress, cyber bullying. And the world goes crazy trying to take our computers away, putting kids in counselling and punishing them. Yet no one ever come straight out and says it. No one ever tells us that these teenagers kills themselves, end their own lives, because of depression. It’s always blamed on others. We don’t want to face the fact that that girl that seemed so happy, was completely miserable, right in front of us. And we didn’t even notice. . Everyday in schools we hear ‘don’t drink, don’t smoke, don’t do drugs, don’t bully.’ it could kill you. But their wrong. In schools were never taught about depression, the symptoms, the signs. How to help. Depression is the killer. And some of us have it. Some of us don’t fit any of the stereotypes. We don’t get bullied, so our problems aren’t real, right? We have no reason to be sad. We have no reason to want to die. Depression is the killer. Teach us that.
